Eli's Christmas program for his preschool was held on the morning of December 19th. The kids came in and sang a bunch of songs for the audience, then had an intermission when they got dressed for their Christmas play.
It was quite impressive! They performed the play, "Where's the Baby Jesus?" and Eli played the role of a shepherd.
In the play, the wise men "travel" around to various areas looking for the baby Jesus. They ask the angels, the innkeeper, King Herod, the shepherds, and finally Mary and Joseph if the baby Jesus is there. When it was Eli's turn, he and the other shepherd answered, "No, we're watching the sheep!"
Eli took the job of watching the sheep very seriously!
After the play was over, the kids were surprised with a visit from Santa! Eli told Santa he wanted new trucks for Christmas. I was surprised because Eli had previously asked Santa for a shot gun with a pump action. When I asked Eli about it, he told me, "The Santa at the North Pole is already bringing me that!" Hmm, maybe he missed the part about Santa not being a mail-order catalog!
