Christmas morning 2012:
We didn't get much sleep the night before. Eli's usual bedtime issues plus the excitement about Christmas was just too much for him. Finally at about 1:30 am we gave up and had him sleep on a cot in our room! At least we got a few hours of uninterrupted sleep after that!
After a quick breakfast in bed (for Eli) and reading the Christmas story together, we brought Eli out to see and open the presents.
He was pretty excited about his new chair from Ikea!
Eli was excited about all of his gifts, really. Every time he opened one, he would hug it to himself!
After everything else was opened, we found one last hidden gift from "Santa"!
It was the shotgun with pump action, just like Eli asked for!
He didn't waste any time- he just got started hunting! This thing ended up going everywhere with us Christmas Day!
Once again, I'm reminded how greatly we are blessed. Not just materially, but with the coming of Christ as a baby. As we've spent more time this year teaching Eli about the real meaning of Christmas, we've also prepared our own hearts more for the celebration of our Savior. It made celebrating Christmas extra sweet!
