Disney Vacation- Animal Kingdom

Our first day at Disney was at Animal Kingdom. There were a few fun things we got to see and do, but it was so incredibly hot and we were all tired from too many late nights that it made it hard to enjoy.

Dino Land. The boys played on a big playground, and we got to meet our first Disney character- Donald!

After that we went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch. The food was amazing and there was a lot to see to keep the boys occupied. Poor little Asher was so worn out by this time that he passed out in the high chair. 

One of our favorite things at Animal Kingdom was the safari ride. You got in a big open air truck and rode through the wildlife area. We saw giraffes, elephants, alligators, and lots of other animals. You can tell by Asher's face just how hot it was that day!

As we were headed out of the park that day, we found a place to stop and meet Mickey and Minnie! Asher was SOO excited!

Asher loved meeting all the characters he could. Eli was a little more reserved around them.

For several weeks before our trip, Eli kept watching an online video about the thrill rides at Disney. One he was really looking forward to was "Expedition Everest". He and I rode it, but Eli was terrified! I thought our ride picture was so funny! 

We didn't stay very late at Animal Kingdom since everyone was tired and hot. We checked into our hotel (Port Orleans French Quarter) that morning, but still had lots of arrangements to make when we got back. The first step was finding out where our luggage had been stored, and calling maintenance to fix our bathtub. There was no way to stop the water from draining, and we had two boys that desperately needed baths! We were very impressed with the service at our Disney resort!
