Christmas Morning at Home

We started off Christmas morning with breakfast delivered to the boys' rooms, and reading the Christmas story from the Bible. Eli asked if he could eat next to his Truth in the Tinsel tree so he could point out the parts of the story for which we made ornaments. I thought that was a great idea!

We tried to keep Christmas simple this year. For the boys, we decided to do four gifts- "something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read". There wasn't a huge quantity of presents, but Eli and Asher still had a very nice Christmas. Jason and I each got one large gift- a new suit for Jason, and a food processor for me!

Eli got a new orange bike and helmet as his "need" gift. His old bike was way too small for him. We decided several weeks before Christmas to get it for him, and when he talked to Santa at his school program he asked for a bike, which he had never talked about before. It's a good thing "Santa" thought of that ahead of time! He also got a Duplo Jake & the Neverland Pirate set, some new jeans, and a Bible storybook to add to our bedtime rotation.

The boys were excited to start opening presents!

Isn't he just the sweetest thing?

This was the best we could do for a family picture- ha!

Asher got a corn popper, some new basketballs, a jacket, and a Hug-A-Bible board book (super cheesy, but we want him to LOVE the Bible!)

Eli and Asher each got a small gift from Santa- figurines from Jake & the Neverland Pirates for Eli, and a singing, crawling snail for Asher. (Eli has played with Asher's Christmas presents more than his own!)

We finished up with stocking gifts- Eli was excited to get a new travel cup like Mommy's and a package of his "gum" (which are actually Tootsie Rolls-his favorite candy). I got some fun accessories from King Arthur Flour, and Asher got Puffs and some new spoons. Jason got a new travel cup that works with his Keurig machine as well as coffee and Chapstick- his stocking staples.

I love our little family and our simple Christmas. After we finished up, we headed to Poverty Knob for Christmas with the Havers.
