After a HUGE brunch, we got our yearly pictures in front of the tree. (If you look close, you’ll see that Eli is wielding the remote for this one- once he sees it, he has to have it, and one he took actually turned out better than the others!)
And then we started opening an obscene amount of gifts!
Eli enjoyed helping pass out gifts to everyone,
but when he opened clothes, he just chucked them over his shoulder!
We all chipped in and got mom a new KitchenAid mixer!
And Eli got a wide variety of other gifts… a chair, a vtech InnoTab (his very own Ipad!), football gear, trucks… a little bit of everything!
I took the prize for worst-wrapped gift. Jeremiah’s hunting chair was impossible to wrap!
And for once, we actually surprised Dad with a gift- seat covers for his new (used) John Deere Gator! It’s not very often we surprise Dad with any gifts, so I was especially thankful to Jeremiah for the idea!
The rest of the day was really relaxing. Once we got Eli down for a nap, Mom, Jeremiah, and I visited Aunt Paula in the hospital where she is recovering from her stroke. Then, we had some time to take it easy before going to the Wiremans. It was a wonderful Christmas celebration with the family!
