The Great Swaddle Experiment

I haven't gotten a full night's sleep in over three months. It's starting to take it's toll, and I knew something needed to give when I was halfway to Walmart last week and realized I had never put shoes on! I was still wearing my slippers, and thank goodness, my mom was in the car with me and saved me from mortal embarrassment in being one of those Walmart women who wears their houseshoes to the store. I mean, I might as well have left the house with curlers in my hair! We stopped at a store on the way and she bought me a pair of flip flops... thanks, Mom!!!

So, I knew something needed to be done. My friend Jodi, who has twins, swears by swaddling. Her kids are a week younger than Eli (their pictures are below) and have been sleeping 6-8 hours a night, so who am I to argue?? Eli usually HATES having his arms immobilized, so we never thought it would work, but at this point I'm willing to try anything!

We tried it for the first time on Thursday night and Eli slept from 10:30 to 5:30! Praise God! Unfortunately, I'm so used to waking up that I was awake at 4 am and could not go back to sleep. The second night, Eli went to bed around 11:30 and slept til 6:30 on Saturday morning. I have never loved the kid more! Last night he slept almost 7 hours straight, so I'm a total believer! I'll be purchasing a few more of this miracle wraps to make sure we always have one clean!

A few more days of this, and I may just regain my sanity! Check out my little burrito baby, sleeping peacefully!
