Jason's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, which made it easy to celebrate. The night before, the Summer Olympic games in London began. That morning, we were all watching an archery competition on TV while eating breakfast, and Eli decided he wanted to play archery on the Wii! I wonder how many times this is going to happen in the next two weeks? Between the Wii and the Kinect, we have quite a few Olympic sports that can be reinacted! We may have to hold our own Olympics!
We invited all of Jason's family and my family over for a cookout to celebrate his birthday. It was lots of fun! The weather was hot, but nice, so the kids got to play outside a little.
Jason's request of Peanut Butter Stuffed Hot Fudge Cupcakes were a big hit- in fact, I think Beau ate all of his and part of everyone else's!
Even Eli ate part of one, and he rarely eats sweets (unless it's peanut M&M's, of course).
The day before Jason's birthday, I took Eli to the dollar store and let him pick out gifts he thought his dad would like. He picked the most random selection of things! There was a giant crayon bank, a paint roller, earphones, and my personal favorite, a whoopee cushion, among other things. Eli was very proud of his gift.
We are so blessed to have Jason as the leader of our family. It was fun to celebrate his special day!
