Jason has been learning to refinish furniture- starting with the bedroom set he had as a child! He’s been working on it a little at a time, and so far has refinished the twin headboard and one of the dressers in Eli’s room.
His next project is going to be this cabinet and hutch:
I can’t wait to see how it turns out. This was my Grandma Haver’s china cabinet, and Dad said he remembers building the shelves that surround the hutch when he was young! When Jason started taking the hardware off, I opened the top cabinet to see what was on the back, and got a huge wiff of the scent of Grandma’s house! It’s crazy how quickly a scent can take you back. I still miss her so much, and it will be awesome to have this piece in our house once it’s finished!
And since no post is complete without pictures of Eli… here he is playing with his new ipad (really a Vtech Innotab, but he calls it HIS ipad!)
and using the “big iPad” to play Angry Birds (still his favorite!):
