Visit with Grandma Hays

So, we loaded up practically everything in our house to take our first road trip with Eli. Seriously, you have to pack a TON of stuff to travel with a child! Eli did amazing on the way to Grandma Hays' house, and it was totally worth the effort! She was so happy to see Eli and couldn't believe how big he's gotten and how much he can do now. She's seen pictures, but the last time she saw him in person he was only a month old!

Eli had a great time watching the kittens that have taken over Grandma's front porch! We almost brought one home he was having so much fun!

Eli usually isn't too fond of new people, and especially doesn't like to be held. But, he took to Grandma Hays right away!

We took some time to walk around what is left of the Hays farm. The house and surrounding land has been in the family for about 130 years! Back in the 1950's, the state turned most of it into a public nature preserve. It is a beautiful area!
