August 16th-31st

Eli's favorite show right now is Jake and the Neverland Pirates. He likes to pretend he's having adventures just like Jake, and we usually watch at least one episode of the show during afternoon rest time.

Eli is also addicted to playing games on the iPad! He plays on his own sometimes, but he likes for Jason or I to play with him too. Some of his favorite games right now are Tiny Thief, Kingdom Rush, and Bad Piggies.

Eli spent a day with his Papaw this week, so Mom got some extra snuggle time with Asher!

Kids are so angelic when they're asleep :)

Both the boys were really happy to be at the park this morning!

Asher recently learned how to grab his toes! It is so fun to watch him discover new things!

We started teaching Eli to ride his bike without training wheels by taking off the trainers and the pedals. The idea was to get him used to balancing on the bike first. He didn't last very long- Eli tends to be easily frustrated! He tried a few times, then asked us to put the training wheels back on.

Eli loves messing with Asher, and I warned him that if he kept putting his head by Asher's, Asher would pull his hair. Sure enough...

Dean's birthday had all the grandkids together, which rarely happens! We thought we had a picture of everyone... but oops! Bentley was taking a nap at the time. 9 out of 10 isn't bad!

I can't get enough of these smiles!

Most of August was surprisingly cool, but the last week the temperatures soared into the high 90's so we set up a little redneck water park in the backyard for Eli.

We love fall! And especially the start of football season! All in one weekend, we got to go to the first Elida football game of the year and watch the Buckeyes first game. That makes for a happy Hays family!

Asher's first Elida Bulldog shirt!

I love when Eli helps me bake- but I'm not sure how I feel about having to share the beaters with him! He's learned how yummy cake batter is, and now he wants to hog it all!
