Jason, Eli, and I made plans for a long weekend in Gatlinburg this fall, and Mom and Dad were able to join us. We had a great time, although I wouldn't exactly call it "relaxing". Any travel with a three-year-old is bound to be exhausting!
The first day we were there, we drove to Mingo Falls on the Indian Reservation right outside Smokey Mountain National Park. It was a long drive, but well worth it! The falls are the biggest in the area, and absolutely beautiful!
Jason took Eli down to the water's edge, which he loved!
After our trip to the falls, we tried to get our "traditional" picture in front of the park sign, but Eli was having none of it!
We tried again the next morning, and everyone was in better spirits!
The second day, we drove through the Cade's Cove area, hoping to see some wildlife. We got to see one small bear towards the end of the drive, but it was pretty far away.
The cabin we stayed in was really nice. Eli especially liked the bumper pool table!
On our way out of town, we stopped and did some shopping. We had a good time together, and were very thankful we scheduled a day at home before Jason had to go back to work. By that time we all needed to recover some sleep!
