Our house closed at the beginning of February, so we set our moving day for February 14. Happy Valentine's Day, right? It. Was. Awful. There was only a small chance for snow that day, but oh did it snow! It started coming down heavily while we were loading the first trailer loads. We had to sweep a couple inches of snow off the furniture while we were loading! Then, as we pulled out with the first load, the garage door came down between the truck and trailer, causing more damage to the garage door. And after we got that situated, our short drive turned into a nightmare as white out conditions overtook the area. It was an absolute mess. By the time we got to the rental, everything was wet, messy, and snow covered. Asher's dresser drawers were filled with snow on top of all his clothes!
We survived the move (barely) and spent our first nights at the rental house on Sycamore Street. This was a final picture at the old house when we went back to finish cleaning. I cried a lot of tears over the empty rooms!
Even despite the hassles and stress and hard work, we are thankful to have a place to live. Our rental is small, but clean and manageable. The boys are sharing a room for the first time. The first week was rough, but after that, they did very well. In fact, sharing a room has been very good for Eli- he doesn't need us to sit with him as he falls asleep anymore and Jason and I couldn't be happier! Here are some pictures of the lovely rental house.
We are very anxious to find our new home! And while we are thankful for the rental, we really, really hope that we don't have to stay here long!
