Our house sold, going under contract right at the first of the year. Once we signed that contract, it seemed everything went wrong! The furnace needed serviced, the garage door broke, and the biggest problem- the dishwasher leaked, causing a LOT of damage to the hardwood floors.
After consulting with a floor installer/restorer, we learned that Swartz contracting had a process for drying floors- what a fiasco! We had this mess in our kitchen, running VERY loudly for two days (and nights!), only to learn that it didn't help and couldn't be salvaged. So we turned it in to our home owners insurance and got estimates to replace the floors. Almost $9000 worth of damage! Yikes. Thankfully, the buyers decided to take the money and pick their own flooring to be replaced after they moved in.
Since we had to move things out of the way, Asher enjoyed the extra space to run around!
And selling the house inevitably means having to leave at the most inconvenient times. There were several days that Asher and I drove around aimlessly or went to someone's house to get out for awhile. One day it worked out well for me though- I got some great Asher snuggles!
