This year we celebrated Eli and Jeremiah's birthdays on the same day. Eli had a Disney's Cars themed lunch of all his favorite things- pizza, macaroni and cheese, and fruit! Planning a birthday party around a toddler's schedule is difficult- since we are one of the those families that DOES NOT mess with naptime! So, things went a little out of order...
We started around 11:30, and Eli got to open his presents first!
Of course, there were lots of Cars... he got GeoTrax, puzzles, scale model cars, even Cars pajamas!
He really enjoyed tearing the tissue paper into little bits and throwing it over his head! The best part was when he stopped in the middle of opening, started jumping up and down and shouting "Yaaaay!" Man, I love this kid!
After presents, we had lunch. Here's the table:
and a close-up of the cupcakes (they were chocolate with a peanut butter filling- yummy! I was so glad it turned out okay, since this was the first time I tried the recipe and the first time I ever molded candy for decoration!)
Eli thought it was pretty cool when everyone sang Happy Birthday!
And then he blew out his candles like an old pro!
After lunch, Eli got to play with his new toys for awhile, and said Uncle Jeremiah's name for the first time! He got down from the table and went to the living room (where Jeremiah was already playing with his toys :) ), and said, "Hi, Mi". So cute.
Watching Cars for a few minutes before a much-needed nap:
And after naptime, we celebrated Jeremiah's birthday by going out to dinner at Packard Grill. Eli got in even more practice blowing out birthday candles!
What a great day! Good food, good company, and celebrating two of our favorite people!
